With Herbal Magic, I lost 60 pounds, and it changed my life.
Before I started the program, I was somebody who thought they had confidence. I was somebody who told a lot of jokes, and thought I was funny, and I'd think I was funny. Nobody told me I wasn't funny, but I'd always gravitate towards the back of the room, 'cause I'd like to have a spotlight but not have it on me all the time, because of my self-consciousness.
Ultimately, one day I woke up, I looked in the mirror, and I didn't like what I saw anymore. I decided that it was time for a change. The lifestyle that I was leading wasn't healthy. It wasn't conducive to the behavior that I wanted to conduct on a regular basis.
So I decided to go to the people at Herbal Magic. They gave me an opportunity to find the real me. And I tell you, it's fantastic. Because now that I know me, I know the person I was supposed to become.
In that year that I lost 60 pounds, not only did I find myself as the manager of a radio station, I met the woman of my dreams, who I'm now happily married to, [LAUGHS] I became a jock again. I started playing baseball, I started playing hockey, and I started being proud of who I was, and therefore became an active member of my community.
When I first started Herbal Magic, a lot of friends were asking me, "Oh, you're going to have to starve yourself, you're going to have to go on a major diet, and major starvation binge in order to love that much weight." Because I was a heavier guy, and my convictions weren't that strong.
But thanks to Herbal Magic, I was able to find the willpower, and I was able to find the right foods to not only keep me full, but also keep me on track.
I look back at what I've accomplished. You know, I've sat down with the guys from Mötley Crüe , I've sat down with the guys from Metallica. I've hung out in the dressing room with Audioslave. You know, and I look at those, and a lot of those I frown upon, because all the pictures with me, and all the people that I looked up to in my career, and looked up to when I had their records, it's the guy that I used to be, the guy that I wasn't supposed to be. The guy with the extra 60 pounds.
You know, I remember those smiles, too. The smiles were never that genuine, because I was always afraid of getting my picture taken, not for fear of the fact that, you know, it wasn't the way I wanted to look, but because I would ruin the photo. And 60 pounds later, I'm a ham for the camera. I want to be in front of the camera. I want to be in front of people.
