Personal Contact Helps Maintain Weight LossStatistics on dieting show that weight loss is often accompanied by weight gain. But those same numbers show that those who have personal contact with a weight loss counselor (coach) are much better at keeping the weight off than those without that support. The results of this study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that two and a half years after weight loss, the groups who had personal contact were more successful at keeping the weight off. The researchers attribute this success to the notion that along with the participant, the counselor (coach) also has an interest in seeing successful weight loss outcomes. |
